California Budget defeated 2 to 1
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and lawmakers will likely face the task of closing a state budget gap in excess of $21 billion with a bunch of ballot measures aimed at bolstering the state's finances went down in flames last night.
The RepuKlican governor said the government of the most populous U.S. state faced a shortfall of $15.4 billion for its next fiscal year even if the measures were approved -- underscoring the severe downturn in state revenues with personal income in California shrinking for the first time since 1938 amid recession and double-digit unemployment and fears are that he will ask and get a bailout from the Fed.
Without voter approval for the measures, California will face a $21.3 billion deficit, according to Schwarzenegger, who with the state's DemoKrat-led legislature put the measures to voters as part of a February budget compromise to close a nearly $42 billion shortfall through June 2010.
The reason I'm writing this isn't because of sympathy for poor old (irresponsible)California.
No! I'm writing this because California's population is fleeing at the rate of 3000 per week.
That's 3000 raving lunatic liberals, like ants, looking for a home and will undoubtedley pollute, politically, socially and morally, a moral, patriotic, fiscally conservative community near you ( maybe yours)!
This is an intolerable situation.
Their goofy, 1960's wannabe children will be contaminating your childrens schools. The parents will be creating their home away from home liberal wonderland that failed miserably there into your local politic.
Please, it may be worth it to bail California out just to keep them contained!
Uhhgg! I have to stop now, (gag reflex)...
