Wiretap tap tapping - Big deal? 12/22/2005
Mr President you've been snookered again. You've got to get some new advisors! There you are, in front of everybody, trying to define whether or not defending the country against covert plotters and saboteurs, out to do us in, can justify wiretapping within the countries borders or not.. Duh, of course it can! It doesn't matter whether it's one way from either in or out of the country to another here or somewhere else (that even sounds stupid). If there are terrorists, or anyone else for that matter, out to do us in, we need to stop the bastards any way we can. People trading Aunt Monas cookie recipes aren't worried. What is it that makes some so paranoid, what is it that they might be hiding that the Patriot Act threatens?
I, like any other blue blooded American, would do nothing to undermine our hard won rights - civil liberties if you will. But come on, to risk our loved ones injury or death at the mall, library or on foreign soil because of a political correctness bordering on masochistic paranoia is just nuts..
Besides, lets assume the Government attempts to usurp our rights or try to enslave us in some 1940ish Nazi or Stalinesque tyranny. Do you really think they could pull it off, in America, the land of independent discontent?
Why do you think we are so adamant about gun rights (and having to fight for the right every step of the way, due to the efforts of the same liberals who are scared to death of losing rights to the government - I think they are just lacking in that which makes men, well, men! That and their burning desire to destroy Rome in order to rule it..
Lately, I keep hearing Liberals repeating "absolute power corrupts absolutely" from D.Sen.Reids speech as if it's the new rallying cry for Le Miserabe, mantra of the dispossessed - yuck!
You know, if the ones doing the bitchin were really as heartfelt as they would have us think, we wouldn't have an armed forces recruiting deficit and certain University guru professors like Ward Churchill @ Boulder wouldn't be spewing the anti American filth to packed auditoriums like they are.
