Britannia the fallen

Bold italics by yours truly
the rest is by Militant Islam Monitor

Londons oldest Centre of Muslim Worship launched an exciting new community project yesterday, marking a new and exciting chapter in Londons cosmopolitan and diverse history. The London Muslim Centre is the largest Muslim and multi-purpose community and cultural centre in Western Europe and is set to provide a range of services to people of all faiths and none. http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/1315

This is what Britannia has succumbed to in her loss of soul,in her throes of death. After all, I suppose the ancient lady is entitled to slumber after such an illustrious age filled with Great Warrior Kings and the heroes who followed them to battle in faraway lands.

A complex which opened in 2005, was named the London Muslim Center and it's goals, which were spelled out at the opening, indicated that the London Muslim Center was intended to be the roots which would enable the growth and spread of Muslims (and Islam) into the political, social and economic life of Britain..."
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1892780,00.html

Will those ancient bones rattle from their sleep while fleshless hands grope for shield and sword?
Is it the howling wind or hounds of hell I hear behind the castle keep?
It's the shriek of ancient dead, broken hearted, humiliated, murderous anger that their children would shuck off the one responsibility that defines them as men, Englishmen!
Woe for the aisles for now they are done, nor even the unborn can undo whats been done!

"The War on Terror is World War IV"
- Eliot Cohen
Welcome to Militant Islam Monitor. Our mission is to provide an online resource documenting the activities and identities of Islamist individuals and groups in the United States and abroad.

What is militant Islam?
"Militant Islam is a Utopian ideology, initiated in the 20th century, that attracts only a portion of Muslims, (10 to 15 percent) seeks to gain control of governments, and is nakedly aggressive toward all those who stand in it' way, no matter what their faith...Unnoticed by most westerners, militant Islam has unilaterally declared war on Europe and the United States... The enemy in this war is not terrorism, but militant Islam." - Dr. Daniel Pipes, Militant Islam Reaches America"

"After Sept. 11, everyone in America knows full well the power and persistance of these militant radical groups... Is is a certainty that the terrorists, already living among us, will continue to pursue their destructive agenda." Steve Emerson -American Jihad

Militant Islam Monitor will aim to provide the informational arsenal necessary to take part in the struggle against militant Islam and terrorism.

Mohammad Ali Hamadi

Navy diver's killer held in Beirut

By Nicholas Kralev and Gary Emerling
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
December 21, 2005

EXCERPT

Mohammad Ali Hamadi - A member of the Hezbollah guerrilla group, received a life sentence in Germany for hijacking a TWA plane to Beirut and fatally shooting Waldorf, Md., native Petty Officer 2nd Class Robert Dean Stethem, but was paroled after 18 years and freed on Thursday. Just to see him free slays us," said Richard Stethem, father of the seaman whose beaten body was thrown onto a Beirut runway in 1985.
The United States, which has been seeking Hamadi's extradition since his 1987 capture in Frankfurt, privately expressed anger at his early release, but officials said they were determined to "get our hands on him." A life sentence in Germany ranges between 20 and 25 years, with the possibility of parole after 15 years. Hamadi, now 41, was convicted in 1989, and the two years served prior to that were deemed part of his sentence. Washington approached the authorities in Beirut, where Petty Officer Stethem's murder occurred and where Hamadi arrived on Friday. Hamadi was in "temporary custody" in Lebanon. Kenneth Stethem, the petty officer's older brother, called the release "absolute injustice,"

VIGILANCE: Patriot Act

Patriot Act

The buzz on the street is the flap about whether the Patriot Acts surveillance techniques, ala telephony monitoring of citizens, is a violation of civil liberties as feared by many, left or right, or the no holds barred version of the administration who justify monitoring overseas communications of certain citizen/non citizens to thwart terrorist plots. Which many, left and right, find comforting. If we were more vigilant prior to 9-11 this blog wouldn't exist. That's a fact!

But what about those citizens who would exercise the proverbial loose lips that can and do sink ships? Are they guilty of an even worse crime against their troops in the field or even the security of their Nation? Some think and act as though they are doing heroic deeds. Others feel they are opportunists blinded by political agendas to the point of national cannibalism.

Bush calls leak 'shameful'
By Joseph Curl, Washington Times

Addressing critics who say the National Security Agency (NSA) program -- created a month after the 2001 attacks -- violates civil liberties, Mr. Bush said he "absolutely" has the "legal authority" to approve the surveillance.
President Bush yesterday called the recent leak about a top-secret U.S. program to spy on suspected terrorists a "shameful act," and rebuked Senate Democrats for their "inexcusable" effort to block renewal of the Patriot Act.
Three days after the New York Times reported about the covert spy program, the president said surveillance of international communications "of people with known links to al Qaeda" is warranted by the September 11 attacks and said he has "the constitutional responsibility and the constitutional authority to protect our country
"Our position is that the authorization to use military force, which was passed by the Congress shortly after September 11, constitutes that authority," Mr. Gonzales said. He called the monitoring "probably the most classified program that exists in the United States government."

One must ask, what degree of threat exists to judge what degree or measure of prevention to take? Is it time of war or peace, does it matter? Under the circumstances most prudent people would want to know what a Muslim American would be talking about when communicating with a Muslim in Afghanistan for example, who just happen to be on a terrorist watch list.

Bush to continue domestic spying - By David Jackson and John Diamond, USA TODAY

Three Democratic senators called for suspension of the formerly top-secret program until Congress can hold hearings on its legality. "He is the president, not a king," said Sen. Russ Feingold (news, bio, voting record), D-Wis., who was joined by Sens. Carl Levin of Michigan and Jack Reed of Rhode Island.
Bush justified the phone-monitoring program under the constitutional requirement that presidents protect and defend the country; he also cited the 2001 congressional authority permitting military force against al-Qaeda, passed after the 9/11 attacks. He said congressional leaders have been briefed on the program more than a dozen times.

It's amazing how quickly one forgets, that not all, have as short a memory as one would like! And I'm sorry, but I remember who voted for war against Iraq and I'll bet there is more recollection of agreement to monitor than is being remembered!

Democrats Say They Didn't Back Wiretapping - By KATHERINE SHRADER, Associated Press Writer

Rockefeller is among a small group of congressional leaders who have received briefings on the administration's four-year-old program to eavesdrop — without warrants — on international calls and e-mails of Americans and others inside the United States with suspected ties to al-Qaida.
The White House brushed aside Democrats' contention that they weren't provided enough information on the program. "They were briefed and informed," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said, repeatedly refusing to address Democrats' specific complaints. "Congress has an important oversight role."
"To say 'unchecked power' basically is ascribing some kind of dictatorial position to the president, which I strongly reject," he said angrily. "I am doing what you expect me to do, and at the same time, safeguarding the civil liberties of the country."
Former Sen. Bob Graham (news, bio, voting record), D-Fla., who was part of the Intelligence Committee's leadership after the 9/11 attacks, recalled a briefing about changes in international electronic surveillance, but does not remember being told of a program snooping on individuals in the United States

Christmas poem

A nice poem - author unknown

Item #2:

A DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS POEM

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light.

Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night.
It's my duty to stand at the front of the line
That separates you from the darkest of times.

No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at 'Pearl on a day in December,

Then he sighed,
"That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers.

My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile."

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
"I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother
Who stand at the front against any and all
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.

So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."

"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust
That we mattered to you, as you mattered to us.

WE ALL NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL EVERY NIGHT!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!

WWII Memorial

A friend e mailed this to me and I thought it rather apropo.
I don't know who the original author is but, here goes!

Item #1:

WW II MEMORIAL
A MESSAGE FROM AN APPALLED OBSERVER: Today I went to visit the new World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. I got an unexpected history lesson. Because I'm a baby boomer, I was one of the youngest in the crowd. Most were the age of my parents, veterans of the "greatest war," with their families. It was a beautiful day, and people were smiling and happy to be there. Hundreds of us milled around the memorial, reading the inspiring words of Eisenhower and Truman that are engraved there.

On the Pacific side of the memorial, a group of us gathered to read the words President Roosevelt used to announce the attack on Pearl Harbor:
Yesterday, December 7, 1941-- a date which will live in infamy--the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked.

One elderly woman read the words aloud:
"With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph."

But as she read, she was suddenly turned angry. "Wait a minute," she said, they left out the end of the quote. They left out the most important part.
Roosevelt ended the message with "so help us God.'"

Her husband said, "You are probably right. We're not supposed to say things like that now."

"I know I'm right," she insisted. "I remember the speech." The two looked dismayed, shook their heads sadly and walked away.

Listening to their conversation, I thought to myself, "Well, it has been over 50 years. She's probably forgotten."

But she had not forgotten. She was right.

I went home and pulled out the book my book club is reading --- "Flags of Our Fathers" by James Bradley. It's all about the battle at Iwo Jima. I haven't gotten too far in the book. It's tough to read because it's a graphic description of the WWII battles in the Pacific. But right there it was on page 58. Roosevelt's speech to the nation ends in "so help us God."

The people who edited out that part of the speech when they engraved it on the memorial could have fooled me. I was born after the war. But they couldn't fool the people who were there. Roosevelt's words are engraved on their hearts.

Now I ask: "WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE WORDS OF
HISTORY?????????

Send this around to your friends. People need to know before everyone forgets. People today are trying to change the history of America by
leaving God out of it, but the truth is, God has been a part of this nation, since the beginning. He still wants to be...and He always will be!

If you agree, pass this on. If not, MAY GOD BLESS YOU =============
Carpe Diem

Semper Fi,
Karl

Too much time

Which is worse, Neo Nazis of the Socialist _ party of America or a bunch of gangbanger ghetto thugs, recipients of a socialist welfare doctrine?
There they are, as big as life, demonstrating against each other. The Neos are demonstrating against the ever growing crime in the neighborhood committed by the black gangbangers and the black gangbangers are demonstrating against the Neos because they hate whites and basically like to tear shit up! What do you do? Protect them from each other, protect the innocent from both or let them kill each other?

California will pay with riots if Governor Schwartzenegger doesn't commute Tookies death sentence. Sounds like blackmail to me. Man, don't you think california is way over due for a really big earthquake? Lets see, all the things that should be there when it happens..Democratic convention with the majority attending - I was going to list them but realized it 's easier to list the ones not wished to attend. The A.C.L.U., Air America, N.A.M.B.L.A., Ninth Circuit Court, the hood, most of Hollywood, L.A.Times and, ah hell! Wow, no comparison, but is this the process the big guy went thru trying to decide who stays and who goes at Soddam Gmorra or the great flood?

Cokie Roberts

Cokie Roberts, another liberal mamby pamby, was on CNNs Reliable Sources on Sunday 12-11- 05 talkin up the we need money for every damn disaster in the world thing. Don't you get sick of the u.s.tax payer being used as the worlds piggy bank? She, Cokie says, (with a big shit eatin grin all fuzzy and proud) American money is paying for Pakistans earthquake and Asias tsunami. New Orleans Katrina which everyone says needs rebuilt like today hurry hurry hurry. Money used to help Moslems yada yada yada bullshit.
We don't need to be rebuilding that ungreatful Arab world who act like it's our responsibility to do so. Let them do it! Whats the U.N. doing, wheres the World Bank, the rich Saudis and Kuwaitis? Piss on the campaign to win Muslim hearts or anybody elses for that matter..Let them win my heart, the bastards..Cokie, kiss my ass and shut yer bleedin heart yap..

Sami al Arian - time factor/pre 9-11 sentiment saves his terrorist bacon

If al Arian had committed the same infractions post 9-11 instead of before the war on terror, he would be so far back in the hole they'd have to pump air to him. AS it is we have to live with the fact he beat some, but not all of the charges. Right now, he will be answering to the rest before long.

Is Sami Al-Arian guilty of terrorist plots?
Based on years of wiretaps, John Ashcroft says the embattled South Florida professor was a terror-cell mastermind. Al-Arian calls it "politics."

Feb. 21, 2003 |
Professor Sami Al-Arian, the Florida academic whose alleged involvement with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad thrust him into the center of a raging controversy, was arrested Thursday, charged with financing and supporting that terrorist group. Attorney General John Ashcroft's Justice Department handed down a sweeping 50-count indictment against Al-Arian and seven other men, charging them with conspiracy to commit murder, giving material support to an outlawed group, extortion, perjury, and other offenses.
An indictment against Al-Arian had been rumored for months, but the one returned this week by a federal grand jury in Tampa was more expansive than most observers had expected. It accuses Al-Arian of masterminding a terrorist support group that thrived in south Florida for nearly 20 years.

Power at any cost

Ok, your (blue) politicians, hard at work, have come up with what they consider a brilliant way to save their retarded asses in the redistricting battle!
Are you ready? Better sit down for this one because it's as brilliant as their last big move out west (Texas) a few years ago, when they irresponsibly avoided the vote by getting on busses and heading for a New Mexico hotel..The public expects to see Texas Senators at work in the Texas Senate — not dodging the sergeant-at-arms by fleeing to Albuquerque. http://beldar.blogs.com/beldarblog/2003/08/poll_shows_demo.html

Alright, alright I'll tell ya already! They want to let non citizens vote..That doesn't sound so bad does it? And if they still need more to win, well, just send some voting forms overseas or maybe just load up the vans with tourists at the beach. Canadian and Mexican nationals will gladly come over to help with the voting.
If I didn't know these people were absolutely serious, it would be hilarious. But I'm sorry to say they are deadly serious and like I've always said, the Libs will burn down the farm in order to control it. In order to get a flow and maintain the momentum against President Bush and the GOP they will stop at nothing. It's maniacal! The driven zeal with which they will stampede, crushing all that matters into broken bone and gore, destroying, instead of protecting their culture, to empower themselves.

It's the same in Iraq. The Liberals, (and who are these mysterious liberals anyway? Are they anarchist college kids from the infamous northwestern U.S. ? No! They're adults and they inhabit congress, universities, the courts, the press, local governments and you're local pubs). They will stand with our countries enemies hurling insults against us. They will endanger their own military sons and daughters with accusations and will undermine the confidence of those fighting the fight to eliminate those who would kill them while they sleep. Oh, and while we're at it, lets expose some more secret over seas interrogation depots..The constitution gives no "right to know" state secrets, period!
All for their utopian play, starring themselves as the rulers and saviors of the new world order. Legends in their own minds at our childrens childrens expense!
Sell us out baby!
